In the early edition of the March issue story, “U.S. Senator Coburn Takes Science’s Flag to Social Security Administration,” we wrote that Dr. Chafetz: “He holds multiple board certifications at both the state and national levels.” Dr. Chafetz immediately contacted us to say he did not consider his state licenses as board certifications and felt the statement could be misleading. The publisher agreed to clarify the sentence as, “He is licensed in two states and board certified in clinical neuropsychology.” This is how it appears in later editions that day.

The Times regrets any confusion we may have caused.
