The National Psychologist reported in their March/April issue that two more states will consider banning the controversial approach for changing sexual orientation, called conversion therapy. New Jersey and Massachusetts have put forth bills to prohibit psychologists and mental health professionals from the approach, while California’s law to block the use of the therapy is being reviewed in the Ninth District Federal Court.

The NP report notes that the New Jersey bill is supported by the New Jersey Psychological Association. The New Jersey association’s president describes the therapy as “… very harmful,” noted the report.
