INVOLVEMENT – ULL Psychology

It is hard to come up with a group of people who were more impressive in their ability to involve others and build a community of people and knowledge about psychology than those in the Psychology Department of University of Louisiana Lafayette. Perhaps it’s because they’re celebrating 100 years but they were out in force at the Southwestern Psychological Association convention in Baton Rouge in 2022. Drs. Amy Brown, Brooke Breaux, Theresa Wozencraft, Valanne MacGyvers, Manyu Li, and others, made their presence known and brought hordes of students with them. Top this off with the exceptional mentoring of Dr. Hung-Chu Lin, ULL Professor of Psychology, who has raised involvement and mentorship to a high-level. She was named for her mentoring by the University and also recognized by the state psychology association as the Janet R. Matthews, PhD, Outstanding Psychology Mentor. Community involvement at ULL is a model the rest of us should embrace.
