Happy Holidays to you and your family, Julie. As always, your monthly publication, The Psychology Times, is a wonderful and engaging read. The December 2022 issue (Vol. 13, No. 12) is no exception. While I could rave about multiple articles in this most recent issue, I particularly wanted to commend you on the article "Who Profits? The 50th Percentile EPPP Cut-Off." You (and those who contributed to your article) are to be thanked for taking the initiative to research the development and use of the EPPP, including the interplay of ASPPB with state licensing boards. The issues you raised and summarized (absence of predictive validity, the financial self-interest on the part of ASPPB, the impact of the 50th percentile cut-off on the licensing of new psychologists, and the adverse impact on minority applicants) should be conveyed broadly and in language that is easily understood. I believe your piece on the subject does the job! Finally, in acknowledging your Archimedes-inspired call for sick leave, I want to state the obvious: Whenever you cease to publish The Psychology Times, the field and practice of psychology will be diminished by the absence of your voice. This statement is not intended to pressure you into continuing until you are unable to write. It is intended to acknowledge the tremendous value you provide to the community. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Best wishes for the holidays and new year.
