Published August 4 Emergency Rules for Behavior Analysts

Emergency Rules were published on August 4 to continue to regulate the practice of behavior analysis. The Emergency Rule was effective August 4, 2014, and will remain in effect for a period of 120 days, noted the announcement. Included are sections on applications procedures for state licensure for Behavior Analysts, for Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, and for registration of Line Technicians. Behavior Analysts will need to provide proof of a master’s degree and submit verification of passing a national exam, among other requirements. Assistant Behavior Analysts will need to provide proof of a bachelor’s degree, passing an exam, and line technicians must complete a criminal background check. Fees are listed as $400 for application for Licensed Behavior Analyst, $250 for State Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, and $50 for Line Technicians.
